Oktoberfest Sauerkraut and Brats Recipe
This is a wonderful recipe for Sauerkraut Topping on Brats or Metts.
1/2 pound Bacon, cut in 1 inch pieces
?1 small Onion chopped
1 refrigerated bag of Sauerkraut, drain and rinse once in colander.
12 grilled Brats or Metts
Brown and cook thoroughly the onion and bacon in a large skillet. Add drained Sauerkraut, stir into the bacon and onion mixture. Add 1/2 cup of water. Simmer on low heat 10 minutes Add just enough water if needed to keep moist. Keep warm until the Brats or Metts are ready. Serve on hot dog buns with mustard.
